Creating an Account/Logging In
You do not need to create an account to use the GIS Inventory. You do need to create an account to inventory the data that you produce.
Creating a user account is easy, open to anyone, and free of charges. Information collected by the GIS Inventory system is used to support local, regional, statewide and national GIS coordination and planning efforts. It is also used to promote partnership opportunities for data creation efforts. Registered users create profiles for their organization, systems, policies and then inventory, or harvest, existing and planned data holdings. In some states, users may also be asked to respond to state-specific survey questions.
New users must create an account in order to be registered and log-in. Registered users benefit by being able to create their own user reports, automatically generating starter metadata from their responses (for users who do not already create metadata) and by being a recognized GIS data steward in their geographic area.

Note: Your E-Mail address is your user name when you log in. Carefully enter it to make sure it is correct.
Click "Save" at the bottom of the page. You will receive an E-Mail message with a link that you must click to validate your account. If you do not receive this message, it is most likely due to the firewall setup utilized by your organization. Please submit a Support Request and let us know that you didn't receive the validation message. We will validate your account and forward a message to you.
Registered User Login
Click "Sign In" at the top right side of the header. Your login name is your E-Mail address. If your E-Mail address changes, you are responsible for logging-in under your old email address and updating your log-in information under the "My Profile" tab.
If you forget your password, click "Forgot your password?" and your password will be E-Mailed to you. Registered users are encouraged to visit this site and update their Profile as often as necessary to keep it current.
